It’s been over a month since Travis was hospitalized. We did our best through the holidays, but Christmas and New Years is pretty bleak in the ICU.
He remains in the hospital and is still dealing with ongoing GI leaks, which means he cannot eat or drink and continues to rely on intensive medical support. His recovery has been slow and complicated, with setbacks that are incredibly hard on both body and spirit.
We are still at his bedside every single day, helping care for him, advocating for him, and supporting him through pain, frustration, and long stretches of uncertainty. While life outside the hospital continues, our world remains centered around his room and his fight to heal.
The financial strain is growing. Medical bills continue to mount. Not to mention housing costs, and other everyday bills don’t stop. The support we’ve received so far has meant everything to our family, and we are deeply grateful.
We are sharing this update because we still need help. If you are able to donate, share, or continue holding Travis in your prayers, please know how much it matters. Every bit of support helps us focus on what matters most—being there for him and helping him get through this long road to recovery.
Thank you for standing with Travis and our family.
On Friday night Dec 12th, 2025, our world was changed forever.
Travis Forshee—a devoted father, brother, uncle, cousin, and deeply loved member of our community—was shot by a complete stranger while leaving a bar with a friend. Travis was not the intended target and had no affiliation with the individuals involved. He was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, the victim of a senseless act of violence.
Travis is currently fighting for his life in the ICU. He has already undergone multiple intensive surgeries, and doctors expect that many more may be necessary. His injuries are critical and the road to recovery is long and full of terrifying complications. Best-case scenario, Travis will remain hospitalized for weeks, followed by months of intensive at-home treatment and rehabilitation. It is also likely that he will require some level of lifelong care that will significantly alter his quality of life.
His family is staying by his side 24/7 to support him through this unimaginable journey.
Because of this tragedy, Travis is no longer able to work, and the financial burden is quickly becoming overwhelming. Survival and ICU Medical bills, housing costs, and everyday expenses continue to pile up while his sole focus—and ours needs to be on his survival and recovery.
We are humbly asking for:
• Prayers and positive thoughts as Travis continues to fight
• Donations of any size to help cover the extensive medical expenses, housing costs, and essential bills during this long recovery
Every contribution, share, and prayer truly matters. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page to help us reach others who may be able to support Travis and his family.
Thank you for standing with Travis during the hardest fight of his life. Your love, generosity, and compassion mean more than words can express.
