Hello Family and Friends of Travis Risueno,
For those that may not know, Tra(vis) was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, this past summer. ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease, which means it gets worse over time. There are many studies and clinical trials taking place, but currently there is no cure. As the disease progresses it affects the nerves in your brain and spinal cord that are needed to keep muscles moving, leading to weakness and eventually paralysis, impacting basic living skills and function.
Vis is one of the most caring and thoughtful individuals you will ever meet. Those who know Vis, love him and the amazing person that he is! He has always been someone that goes above and beyond for family and friends. Full of life and positivity; always smiling, bopping to the beat, and enjoying the moment.
Vis, being a private person has kept his diagnosis quiet, not wanting to worry those closest to him. However, this disease is not something anyone should take on alone. He is going to need an abundance of love and support from family and friends.
We started this campaign to help Vis during these trying times. The hope is to alleviate some of his worry and assist with the immeasurable medical costs associated with treatment and equipment that will be needed. Vis remains positive and has vowed to fight and we ask all those closest to him to do the same.
Please consider donating and keep Travis in your thoughts and prayers.
