We have found many people in our region are interested in learning more about Christianity and Jesus, and we believe this introductory text will answer their questions. Gilbert’s simple and straightforward style will be accessible to those who have no background in Christian beliefs. Making this text available in the local language will make Jesus more personal to them—He is not just someone that foreigners believe in.
From the publisher:
A man violently rejected by some and passionately worshiped by others, Jesus remains as polarizing as ever. But most people still know very little about who he really was, why he was really here, or what he really claimed.
Intended as a succinct introduction to Jesus’s life, words, and enduring significance, Who Is Jesus? offers non-Christians and new Christians alike a compelling portrait of Jesus Christ. Ultimately, this book encourages readers to carefully consider the history-shaping life and extraordinary teachings of the greatest man who ever lived.
The $2,500 goal we have set for this project includes translation by a local pastor who is a professional translator, as well as necessary licensing fees and an initial print run of 1,000 copies. We have already received permission from 9Marks Ministries to pursue this translation project.
Any funds raised beyond the goal for this campaign will be used to translate the two other books in this series: What is the Gospel? and Why Trust the Bible?
The creator of this project, Serge Y, is on the ground in Southeast Asia and will manage transferring the funds directly to the translator and local publisher.
