LIFE ANNOUNCEMENT: Last week, I lost my job as editor of UpNorthNews — BUT I plan to keep this page going, as it’s something I’ve always operated outside of regular work hours *for free* anyway!

However — I NEED YOUR HELP.

I’m hoping to transition THIS into a full-time job, so I need to make money somehow…

I’ve looked into adding a subscription option or ads, but neither seem appropriate for the time! What if someone can’t afford to “subscribe,” but still wants the news? What if there’s an ad for a person/political party/business I wouldn’t support?

SO… I’m going to test out something a little different: a PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN model.

Once a month, I’ll post a link to a GoFundMe page. I want to be very clear because this is outside my own “comfort zone” — this money will go to me in compensation for the time it takes to find, write, and share positive, purposeful, and sometimes political stories on this page.

Maybe you’re able to chip in $1/month.

Maybe you find yourself on my page a bunch and value what I’m sharing as much as a $5, $10, or $20 newspaper “subscription.”

Maybe you’re not able to pay anything at this time, and that’s fine, too!

I never intend for this to become a major moneymaker. I’m just hoping to make enough to pay my bills while continuing to do what I love — sharing GOOD news with you!
