This GoFundMe has been created to support the Nubian Queens Project in its mission to continue transforming the lives of displaced and marginalised women and girls in the Nuba Mountains region of Sudan and in Uganda.

The ongoing conflict in Sudan has triggered one of the world’s largest humanitarian crises, displacing millions. As the violence continues, civilians have been forced to flee their homes to escape airstrikes, ethnic attacks, and widespread insecurity. Over 7 million people have been internally displaced, while hundreds of thousands have sought refuge in neighbouring countries.

Refugees often face harsh conditions, with limited access to food, clean water, healthcare, and shelter. The conflict has severely hindered humanitarian aid efforts, leaving vulnerable populations—especially women and children—at increased risk of starvation, disease, and exploitation.

The Nubian Queens Project works to bridge this gap in humanitarian aid. The organisation has successfully provided multiple relief efforts to support women in crisis. It also offers vital education on menstrual health and hygiene, especially to young girls, who often lack access to sanitary products and face deeply rooted cultural taboos and inadequate education. These challenges frequently lead to missed school, limited educational opportunities, poor hygiene practices, and serious health risks.

About the Nubian Queens Project:

The Nubian Queens Project is a women-led organisation founded in Kampala, Uganda. It aims to transform the lives of women and girls in Uganda and the Nuba Mountains region of Sudan.

We believe that women are the backbone of strong, thriving communities. When empowered with education, skills, and opportunities, they become agents of change—breaking cycles of poverty and marginalisation. The project focuses on life skills training, mentorship, entrepreneurship, and educational support, creating pathways for women and girls to reach their full potential.
