Help transfer Marcos to an amazing rehab facility

Hi all, for those of you who don’t know the story and why I am putting this together for my sister’s family here it goes. It is with great vulnerability that we are asking for help, any and every little bit helps. We are forever grateful for all who have reached out, have been praying, and who have been sending love this far.
My name is Tawny and my nephew Marcos was in a motorcycle accident on Friday June 30th, 2023. He was hit by someone who decided to run a red light. We didn’t find out about it until the next day. Marcos was always a very cautious driver and never even rode his motorcycle on the freeway.
He suffered multiple life altering injuries, but the main concern are the brain injuries he suffered. He was on life support for months at the young age of 23, we recently celebrated his birthday in the hospital where he turned 24. He has come a long way from where we started but has a long road to recovery ahead of him.
The hospital he was originally at told my sister to pull the plug many times and had no hope. The swelling in his brain and the amount of time he was laying on the road before receiving any life saving aid was significant. We believed in the lord and prayed with everything we had. He is now about to have his trach removed and be discharged from his current care facility. He still requires around the clock care and a minimum of 2 nurses by his side 24/7. He opens his eyes, but still cannot talk, cannot move any limbs and has a G-tube.
He is currently in California but my sister lives in Texas. We found an amazing care facility who specializes in Traumatic Brian Injuries and who has accepted him into their facility. It is located in Texas where he will get to be close to his mom and brothers.
The medical bills alone have taken a huge toll on my sister’s and his dad’s family financially, along with the constant travel back and forth from CA to TX. Now they will be left with another huge bill just for transfer alone. This is the reason for this go fund me. We’d like to be able to provide him the best care possible and make this transfer possible. This is a step closer to getting him back to be able to live the life he deserves. He needs consistent therapy which he isn’t getting at his current facility. The Texas facility is a state of the art facility that can provide him a lot more targeted care with a personalized care plan and extensive equipment. This is crucial for his recovery.
Not only will he need to be transferred, once released he will need a wheelchair, a van that will accommodate his wheelchair, a hospital bed, around the clock care, that’s just to name a few.
We all help as much as we can rotating coverage at the hospital to make sure he’s not alone and to visit with him when we can. But in order to progress he needs a facility that can care for him and provide the physical therapy he needs.
If you’ve read this far I’d like to thank you for your time and consideration to donate. We are not a family familiar with asking for help but will really appreciate any and everything we can get.
We are also accepting donations via Venmo - @Tiffany-Garfias.
