Hello everyone! My name is Penelope, some of you may know me as Penny, I'm a 33 year old community organizer trans woman. I moved to LA 10 years ago for safety from what I saw as the already encroaching anti-trans sentiment, and I'm here now to request your help.

Since July 2025, when I lost my job of five years working for Planned Parenthood, I managed to survive 10 months on unemployment and such, I've slowly circled the drain. The lay-offs were directly affected by the Trump admin and DOGE cuts against public health organizations. I've been job searching since that day, and applied to well over 400 locations, with around 30 interviews so far, and zero job offers. To be honest, transphobia in the past couple years has intensified EVEN IN CALIFORNIA, and compared to previous times being out of work pre-transition, I'm finding it exceptionally difficult to get by.

My point is, to survive in spite of all this, I need funds asap. 98% of that is just going to rent in the bedroom I have in a shared apartment with two others, plus my adorable cat Selene! Regardless, if I can make more than the rent amount, the rest goes straight into bills like water/electricity and food. But again, anything helps!
