Help Trans Community Member Rebuild After Job Loss & Illness

My name is Kaelin Bell, and I'm fundraising on behalf of my wonderful partner, Lex.

Lex is a transmasc community member in need of funds to help him get back on his feet and establish some stability after a tumultuous year of change, illness, houselessness, and financial hardships, as well as abruptly losing his job recently.

In the past year and a half, Lex has had to leave two different jobs due to transphobia he experienced in the workplace. Just as things started to stabilize a bit for Lex at a different job, he was suddenly and wrongfully terminated - we suspect this also is rooted in transphobia.

Lex lost his housing in late 2025, and spent several months staying with me before establishing tenancy elsewhere. He then came down with bronchitis in early 2026, and additionally tested positive for Flu A. This led to Lex missing a substantial amount of work, and racking up several medical bills (chest x-ray, copays, medication, etc).

Prior to this, Lex's electric bike broke down, which he could not afford to fix. This loss of transportation created an additional financial burden, leading a lot of what he was making to go directly back in to transportation to and from work.

I am fundraising on behalf of Lex to help him stay afloat in this challenging time, and hopefully get him back on his feet following a string of back to back hardships. This GoFundMe is being made to hopefully raise funds toward:

-access to lifesaving medication, as well as his testosterone prescription, while he is uninsured in between jobs

-rent and bills as he is in between jobs

-several hundred dollars in medical debt from his illness earlier this year

-fixing his electric bike and regaining independent transportation

Lex is the funniest person I've ever met, and works so hard every day to make everyone around him laugh and feel seen. He is so resilient and such a hard worker, it's been devastating to see him be dealt blow after blow. He truly is the kind of person that lights up a room, and he cares deeply for the community that surrounds him. He consistently finds ways to be generous even when he has nothing to give.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading and for considering donating to my sweet Lex. In a time full of sociopolitical uncertainty and economic instability, particularly for transgender people in the United States, community care and mutual aid are more necessary than ever.

We were very hesitant to reach out for mutual aid, but with the loss of Lex's job, we felt we no longer had a choice. We understand that everyone is struggling in the current economy, so we appreciate any donations so, so much. If you are unable to donate, a share would mean the world. Thank you for your time.
