As many of you do not know, my best friend Trae Vincent suddenly and unexpectedly fell ill the last week of May. What we thought was a stomach bug was so much worse than that. On June 1, 2021 Trae was taken to Renown Medical Center via Care Flight. He was admitted to the ICU on life support. On June 5th he was Life Flighted to Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto, CA where he underwent an emergency liver transplant.
Trae was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition called Wilson's Disease. Trae will remain in the care of Stanford Medical Center for the next 6-8 weeks. His family is in need of financial assistance to aid his care during this critical time.
The family is seeking donations to help with lodging to remain close to Stanford, travel costs, and meals. Donations will also be used to directly assist with Trae's care. Over the next several weeks he is in need of dialysis, daily testing, and close monitoring of his overall health to ensure he is not rejecting his new liver.
The costs of keeping up with Trae in the area for this vital medical care include wound care supplies, anti-rejection meds, food for a very specific diet he must follow, travel costs, and transitional housing until he is stable enough to return closer to home.
Trae has a very long road ahead and his life has been forever changed by his condition and transplant. Every little bit helps and his family is so grateful for all the love and support everyone has shown. We are all happy to see the progress he is making and we are hopeful he will continue on a smooth path to recovery.
If you know Trae, you know he is the most sweetest, kind hearted, bubbly person. During this time, anything helps especially love & prayers!
