I was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine cancer (NETs) after a tumor was discovered in my appendix following an emergency appendectomy. Unfortunately, I was not given clear margins, and I have now undergone a second surgery to remove almost 9 inches of my colon. The combined surgeries made me miss more than a month of work, and ongoing doctor appointments will continue to affect my ability to be in my classroom. As the sole earner in my home, supporting my two children and helping my mom, this situation has seriously and temporarily hurt my ability to pay my current bills and will continue to do so for at least the next 2-3 months.
The funds raised will help cover medical bills for myself and my children, utility bills, groceries, gas, and daily needs for our family. Every bit of support will help us stay afloat during this difficult time and ensure that my family is cared for while I focus on recovery.
I am not the kind of person to ask for help like this. If it wasn’t going to detrimentally affect my children and their comfort, I still would not ask. But the Mom in me recognizes the need to make sure that I am able to keep things as stable for them as possible. Your support means the world to us, and I am deeply grateful for any help you can offer.
