Tracy Williams Needs Our Help!
On Thursday, June 17, 2021 Tracy Williams' life changed forever. It started off as a normal Thursday working for Gunnarson Outdoor Advertising, where he’s worked for nearly 30 years. As the name might suggest, they work in billboard marketing and Tracy oversees the leasing of all their signs and is also responsible for office accounting. He’s basically the owner's right-hand-man. And from time to time, he still inspects billboards.
That Thursday, while inspecting a billboard, Tracy fell some 15 feet, rupturing his L1 vertebrae which required emergency surgery. That same day, the doctors performed an L3/T11 spinal fusion. In plain language, he broke his back and the doctors repaired it.
The doctors reported the surgery was successful and Tracy began his long journey to recovery, which the doctors hope will be 100% after everything heals and physical therapy concludes. On June 24, he was transferred from the hospital in Kyle to the New Braunfels Rehabilitation Hospital. This will be home until roughly July 9 when he can hopefully go home, also in New Braunfels.
While insurance and Tracy’s employer are handling most everything, they will experience financial setbacks because of all this. Their house (all bedrooms are on the second floor) will need some modifications. He will need some medical equipment and furniture (e.g. lift chair) that likely will not be covered by insurance. Not to mention the countless other incidental items.
For that reason, we are hoping to raise funds for Tracy and his family to help them through this rough, uncertain time.
Much like Kappa Sigma’s Five Friends and Brothers took care of each other, it’s time for us to take care of Tracy. Please join me in reaching the $10,000 goal.
Tracy and Jenny have pledged any funds they do not need will be donated to Theta-Lambda.
