Help Us Support Tracy's Transition to Assisted Living
Hi, my name is Vanna, and my husband Greg and I are currently full-time caretakers for his mother, Tracy, who has special needs. This change of care has come on suddenly. It is a rewarding but challenging responsibility—one we've been able to manage because I’m a teacher and have been on summer break.
However, with the school year starting soon, we’re facing a difficult reality: we simply cannot continue to provide full-time care while both working full-time jobs. Tracy needs more consistent support than we can give on our own.
We’re raising funds to help Tracy transition into an assisted living facility that can meet her needs while allowing us to care for our family in a sustainable way. Her first month in the facility must be paid out-of-pocket while we wait for OSS (Optional State Supplementation—a Medicaid support program) to be approved and activated. She’s scheduled to move in on July 30, just one week from now.
The total cost for that first month for the assisted living facility is $1,951. We're asking for $2,500 to also cover multiple months of personal expenses for Tracy—like snacks, lunches at her day program, toiletries, medications, therapies, and other daily essentials.
We’re raising $2,500 to cover:
- Her first month of assisted living care ($1,951)
- The remainder will go to giving her a reasonable monthly allowance for personal items and to help pay for other expenses
Any amount you can give will help ease this transition and allow Tracy to enter a safe, supportive environment without delay. Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity, and support—it means more than we can express.
With love and gratitude,
Vanna & Greg
