We are so sad to say that on Monday, October 15, Tracy's and her family's worlds were turned upside down when they found out she had leukemia. She has undergone tests and doctors have determined she has acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL). Due to the type of cancer, Tracy has been admitted to Kingston General Hospital and will be in the hospital for a minimum of four weeks while she receives her treatment. This news comes as a huge shock to their family, but are staying strong, positive and sarcastic in our belief that Tracy will kick cancer's butt.
We are raising money to help her family with financial costs so they can focus on Tracy's fight ahead and to alleviate any financial burden and stress. Being the only income earner, Tracy will be unable to work throughout her treatment and recovering when treatment is successful. When she is an outpatient, she will have to pay for post-cancer medication as she does not have medical benefits or insurance. We want to take the stress of money and bills away so they can focus their energy and strength on Tracy and on what matters.
Ask any one of Tracy's friends and they will tell you she is a giver. Smart, beautiful and caring, she is loved by many and has a strong support system. She is never one to ask for help but extends every amount of love she can. Her friends and family know the door to her house is always open for a coffee, chat and hug.
Her family is extremely grateful for all of the love and support they have received so far. All of the kind words and messages mean a lot to Tracy. Thank you so much.
