Hi everyone, my name is Ashley. I am creating this go fund me to be able to assist my mom, Tracy Billings.
My mom is a two time cancer survivor (stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, and breast cancer), and she has been battling terminal bone cancer for the last 3 years. Throughout this journey, she has shown immense strength and tenacity. Despite numerous set backs, she still attempts to live life to the fullest. The key symptoms of her bone cancer are constant pain, and decreased mobility. Due to the decline of her mobility, she has been using a walker full time for about a year.
Previously, she was able to make her way up the stairs in order to use the bathroom and shower with assistance. Unfortunately, she does not have the strength or mobility to be able to access our bathroom. We are seeking help from our friends, family, and community to be able to build a new, mobility accessible bathroom on the main level of our home. Not only would this return normalcy to my mom’s life, but it would also assist her in gaining more independence.
UPDATE: We want to thank everyone greatly for their generosity. We wanted to update everyone on the status of my mom and the bathroom installation. It has been a tough month in regard to my mom’s health. Something was off, and we weren’t quite sure what it was. On Thursday, June 26, tests were run which confirmed she has multiple brain tumours. One is larger than the others. She has begun to receive radiation and been put on steroids, which has helped. While she is currently still in the hospital waiting for her treatments to be finished, we want to continue with the GoFund me prior to her return home. She has able to have a full shower, and able to use an actual toilet while in the hospital. When she comes home, we are intending to begin the process of the construction of the bathroom. We want to thank everyone for their support.
We greatly thank you for your support!
Sincerely, Tracy and Ashley
