My name is Rose Funk. I have known Tracy and Melissa for years and consider them to be part of my family. They are going through a very difficult time now with Tracy's unexpected medical problems, and establishing a Go Fund Me to help them is the best way I feel I can help.
On March 18th, 2026, Tracy’s life was upended by an unexpected hospital admission that turned into a life-altering diagnosis. He was transferred by ambulance to Topeka, KS on the 20th for more specialized care and surgery which then turned into an air flight transfer to Madonna Rehab Hospital in Nebraska on April 2nd. Tracy will remain there indefinitely as his medical needs are addressed and as he continues to receive rehab therapies to get stronger to be able to come back home. Tracy has a long road to recovery, but he is working hard each day to improve.
Tracy’s wife, Melissa, has been by his side from the beginning and has been a huge help in his recovery efforts - emotionally, physically and mentally. It is important that she continues to be with him and take part in his recovery; however, with both household wage earners unable to work, finances are becoming a major issue.
They are not only dealing with large unexpected medical bills along with the regular household bills and expenses, but will also need to deal with possible home modifications (inside and outside ramps and making rooms easier to access), essential medical equipment for the home (wheelchair, walker, equipment for bathing, hand rails, etc.), extended therapies in and out of the home (physical and occupational therapies), transportation costs to therapies and medical appointments, plus any other unforeseen future expenses that might arise. These necessities will allow Tracy to regain independence as he continues progressing forward with his recovery, and will also allow Melissa peace of mind knowing Tracy can be safely at home continuing to recover as she returns to work.
Any donation amount will make a meaningful difference in the lives of Tracy and Melissa as they work towards bringing their lives back to “normal.” If you are unable to donate, just sharing the campaign will also help them more than you know.
Let’s come together to support Tracy and Melissa during this time of struggle - his recovery journey is going to be long but they don’t have to walk it alone. To all of you who have been a part of Tracy and Melissa’s lives through their work, friendship, Tracy's 20+ years of volunteering and coaching soccer, football, baseball, tennis and basketball, doing holiday visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus throughout their community, and being a member of the American Legion, Patriot Guard and Eagles, please donate and/or share if you can and keep them and their family in your prayers. God bless you.
