If you know my parents you know they are not the people to ask for help. That is why I wanted to create this go fund me to try and elevate some of the stresses and expenses while my mom (tracy) focuses on getting better.

Right before Christmas my mother (tracy) went in for her 5th back sugery only this one was an emergency. She had suffered broken rods that had previously been put in during another surgery. When her surgeon went in he was able to replace the broken rods and install Xtra to help insure she hopefully wont have any future problems. The sugery unfortunately did not come without complications. She had a CSF leak (cerebrospinal fluid leak). Occurs when there's a tear in the dura mater, the membrane surrounding the spinal cord, causing the protective fluid (CSF) to escape, leading to symptoms like severe headaches that worsen when upright, neck pain, dizziness, nausea, and sometimes ear/nose drainage. Causes include injury, surgery, or spontaneous tears often linked to connective tissue disorders, with treatments ranging from bed rest and blood patches to surgery, aiming to relieve pressure and prevent infection like meningitis.

After her sugery she was extrealy nauseous but they told us it was normal and would fade with time. Eventually she would be discharged what would turn out to be much too soon.

Once home her symptoms because worsened and once again we were told this is normal. Eventually it got bad enough to go back to the hospital. By then her potassium was at a critical level, she has an infection, she was nauseous, extream confusion, lethargic, dropping face and so much more. Once there doctors worked to stabilize her and really just bring her back to us. Slowly day by day now we are starting to see small glimmers of hope. She is just so incredibly strong!

My dad is her sole caregiver. Right now he has been on fmla to stay with her at the hospital. Fmla unfortunately does not pay him while he is off work.

One thing about my dad is he is an incredible husband and caregiver. My mom was first diagnosed with MS in 1998 and since then all I remember is him steadily being there. Caring and helping no matter what. He has been my moms rock since day 1 and continues to be without hesitation. This go fund me is to help ensure he can be there and to help cover expenses while he does that. My dad has a couple years left until retirement and how I wish I could give him the gift of retirement to be with my mom. If I can do this small gesture and try to help give him some time with my mom to help and heal that is what I will settle for. So please, anything will help. Give my parents the time to heal stress and worry free while doing so. I truly appreciate it from the bottom of my heart and I know they will too.
