As many of you know, I have been experiencing chronic, often debilitating pelvic pain for many years now. Recently, I was able to qualify for an indigent care program (I am uninsured and very low income) that enabled me to get diagnostic testing that showed that I had significantly large, partially blocked stones in both my kidneys.
The medical recommendation is for me to have a series of outpatient surgical procedures that will work to break up the stones in each kidney and make them able to pass through my system via a stent inserted in my bladder - my doctor expects that I will need to do this four times at least, and I have my first appointment this upcoming Wednesday, November 1.
My doctor’s fee is covered by my indigent care, but I just found out that I’m required to self-pay for anesthesia for each of my procedures. I don’t have an exact amount just yet, but I was told to expect it to be in the neighborhood of $700+ per procedure, with $500 of that being due on Monday Oct 30 in order for me to be able to secure my surgery spot for Wednesday.
This is difficult for my family to come up with alone, so I’m asking for your help, sweet friends. I’ve been in pain for a long time and it has been isolating and depressing and bleak; the idea that someday soon I might be free from that pain is the best news I’ve gotten lately. If you’re able to help me get my quality of life back, I promise I will be endlessly appreciative! Much love from me and my family, always. ❤️❤️
