My friend Traci has lost her home due to a house fire. I'm launching this fundraiser to assist them with deductibles and the rebuilding process as they can. We're just starting out, so we're unsure when they might be able to move into a new home. The Orzeck family suffered the fire on May 9th, and we are incredibly grateful that everyone, including their calico cat Reeses—who was rushed to the vet for oxygen but is now recovering—are safe.

The family consists of a single mother and her five sons, aged 6 to 18. Traci has a background in legal studies but has recently been working as a substitute teacher to better accommodate her younger children. She found she especially enjoys helping at the local high schools.

** Traci and I met in 2007, and we've lived in the same state several times due to military relocations. In 2009, two of our children were born just a month apart at the same hospital and delivered by the same OB. She’s not just a best friend; she moved to Grovetown about a year and a half ago, and we've been thrilled to be closer together. With the military lifestyle, you move frequently, and people come in and out of your life. I have only a handful of close connections that I’ve maintained over the years. It breaks my heart to see them going through this, and I want to help in any way I can. ❤️
