Tracey was my first and best friend when I moved from Austria to NYC almost 25 years ago. Funny, quirky, and eternally kind, she helped me feel at home in the big city. She later moved to Chicago, then back home to Texas, and I moved back to Europe, but we've stayed in close touch over the years. She adores my two sons, her face lighting up with a huge smile whenever she sees them on video calls, photos or in person. She wrote stories for them and never forgets their birthdays.

In recent years, she has been down on her luck. She lost her job, her income, and her health insurance. She has been struggling with a number of health issues and unfortunately she has no social safety net. While it will take a lot to fix this broken system, what I can do is help a friend.

When it rains, it pours. Tracey urgently needs dental surgery. She is in constant pain and at serious risk for severe health complications. The immediate dental treatment alone will cost at least $15,000, and that’s just the first step. She will also need funds to address other pressing health issues.
