Help towards the lost possessions In family’s house fire

Hello, my name is Cherrelle. My sister Chantelle and I have created this Go Fund me page on behalf of a family that live in Leeds and lost their entire house in an accidental fire.

On Saturday 28 September, Paulette Morris and Christopher Campbell returned home from a long overdue holiday to find their street full of emergency services tackling a huge blaze that had ripped through their family home.

The family were already grieving due to the sudden deaths of two of their loved ones just a few months ago. Both Paulette Morris and Chris Campbell are musicians in their band MOJAH which has recently just taken off with a line up of gigs for next year. They had their home studio with all the musical equipment wiped out. They are both valued members of the Leeds community that has given time and mentorship to many young people across West Yorkshire. Their two daughters both lived at home and as young women, they also had their entire life in each of there bedrooms both was also destroyed.

Thankfully, no-one was at home at the time of the fire, but the fire ripped through the house rapidly, and destroyed so much. The fire also caused damage to several neighbouring properties. It's a miracle no one was injured.

It’s everyone's worst nightmare to have your home and all its contents destroyed. They have lost everything. They are heartbroken. This has left a family with nothing but a few sentimental items that they managed to salvage from the house afterwards. It will take at least a year for the property to be restored, but even longer for them to rebuild their lives. They have been so far relying on the generosity of family and friends to get back on their feet.

The family were somewhat hesitant to allow us to post this, as they are an independent and proud family. They have graciously accepted the offer of help, as the family can’t do this completely alone.

Paulette and Chris are both self employed artists. They are having to juggle work, contend with the devastation caused by the fire whilst they are all still grieving the losses of their loved ones and items that were destroyed.

Please can we ask you to spare whatever you can. Any donations, no matter how big or small are graciously received and will go a long way in helping them rebuild their home and get back on their feet.
