Many of you maybe aware that Ryan has been very poorly in hospital now for over 6 weeks.

Some of you may know that Ryan has a genetic heart condition called Dilated Cardiomyopathy which affects the left chamber of his heart and how it functions. In January he got admitted to hospital and it turned out he had pneumonia, which he was very poorly with. His heart unfortunately took a beating as it was having to work even harder because of the infection Ryan had.

Ryan got discharged from Bburn hospital and was re admitted to Wythenshawe Hospital as that is a specialist cardiac hospital who’s care Ryan has always been under. Following further tests it’s become apparent that Ryan’s heart condition has rapidly declined and he is in severe heart failure and now the right side of his heart has been affected, requiring urgent medical intervention. Ryan went for urgent surgery yesterday and has had to have a device fitted (called BiVAD) which is basically 2 pumps that takes over the function of the left and right side of heart to keep it working. Ryan requires a new heart and is being placed on the urgent transplant waiting list and will remain in intensive care until a donor becomes available.

He has a very long, hard, challenging road ahead of him, one that is going to require a lot of strength both mentally and physically.

We are asking for donations to try and ease the burden of this fight financially. We would really appreciate any help we can get as we try to at least make the financial stress of this easier for Ryan.
