Help Toupee For Kayla's New Hair Amid Cancer
Hi, my name is Mark and I'm fundraising for my daughter Kayla to help support the cost of her wig.
Kayla was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Thankfully with treatment, she will be okay. However with most cancer treatment comes hair loss, which is disheartening for my daughter. Although looks are not everything, being a 29 year old bald lady was not something that would make Kayla happy. Being the proactive woman she is, Kayla went out and bought herself a high quality wig in preparation for her hair loss. It cost over $3000 and insurance covered only $350. Knowing that her self confidence was important to maintain a healthy outlook, Kayla accepted the cost.
Kayla just finished her second treatment and her hair is beginning to fall out. In my opinion, cancer patients shouldn't have to pay so much to ensure their self confidence during a difficult time. Kayla suggested starting a fundraiser with the incentive of me, her father, shaving my head if we reached the goal. If you know me, that's a big deal! I haven't cut my hair in over 20 years! While I thought about it, I didn't want to be a silly gimmick to raise money. So instead to support my daughter, I shaved my head anyways!
So while there is no silly incentive, I ask that if you would like to support Kayla in her cancer battle you do so by helping her with the cost of her wig. Kayla, myself, and the rest of her family are staying positive and know that good health is in the near future. Thank you for any support that you're able to provide.
