Help Toulouse get a new hip!
Donation protected
Toulouse is an 8-year-old Australian Shepherd who was adopted from a rescue 8 years ago. As a puppy, Toulouse was nervous and fearful. His owner, Connor, put in countless hours on training and socialization and the hard work paid off. Toulouse is a confident dog with a calming presence to the many foster puppies that are temporarily sheltered in the home. Toulouse enjoys an active lifestyle with his owners and two fur siblings, including paddle boarding, hiking and he is obsessed with any water activities.
Unfortunately, in 2022, he was diagnosed with hip dysplasia which has progressively worsened over the past two years. For those that are unfamiliar with this condition, hip dysplasia is where the hip socket and ball portion of the leg do not fit properly, causing joint instability and pain. Toulouse has been on both daily oral medication and recently monthly injections; however, his hip dysplasia continues to progress, and he has lost interest in going on walks or playing ball due to the pain. The new plan is a hip replacement. The MSU veterinarians believe he is a great candidate for this surgery and will be able to have a fully active lifestyle again. Connor is a full-time student, and the surgery is very costly. Any help towards medical expenses would be greatly appreciated.
As a friend of Connor, I wanted to create a place where those who know and love her and Toulouse can easily contribute to their veterinary fund for this costly and necessary procedure. We thank you for your time and consideration. Every little bit helps!
