Toto is my 16-month-old dog, full of energy and affection. He’s always been a sweet and loving companion, bringing joy to everyone he meets. Recently, I noticed Toto swinging his hips unnaturally after daycare and long hikes. Concerned, I took him to the vet, where range of motion tests caused him pain and revealed limited movement. X-rays confirmed severe hip dysplasia and degenerative changes, which was heartbreaking to hear given how young he is.


Because Toto is still so young, his vet recommended starting rehab right away to prevent further damage. Toto needs hydrotherapy, neuromuscular electrical stimulation, and laser therapy for his hips. These treatments are essential to help him stay active and comfortable, and to delay the need for bilateral total hip replacements in the near future. Without rehab, his condition could worsen quickly, impacting his quality of life.


As a medical student living on loans, I simply don’t have the resources to cover Toto’s treatment or the surgeries he’ll eventually need. Toto means the world to me, and I want to give him the best care possible so he can continue to live a happy, active life. Any support will go directly toward his rehab and future medical needs, helping him get the treatment he deserves.
