Help Tosha Kick Cancer's Ass!

Let's start at the beginning of her journey. Cancer has affected everyone of us in some way. Prepared to be inspired.

On September 2, 2020, Tosha was given the news that nobody ever wants receive for themselves or anyone they care about. Tosha was diagnosed with Stage IV colon rectal cancer. Unfortunately getting the diagnosis late there, was already a 90% blockage. This followed up with emergency ostomy surgery and the battle plan was put into motion.

On September 17, 2020 treatments to help reduce the size of cancer in colon, liver, lungs and lymph nodes began. (hard core Chemotherapy). Chemotherapy hit her hard, very hard with a plethora of side effects (painful, hospitalizing blood clots, neuropathy in her hands and feet, excessive weight loss, skin rashes, heart stress, and a few $1800 out of pocket ambulance rides). After 8 violent rounds of Chemo to face every other week, she was given a positive CAT scan result, showing close to 50% shrinkage. Doctors then recommended 8 more rounds which in Tosha's words, she said "the "cure" would take my life before the cancer". She did as many rounds as her body could take.

In April of 2021 she was given another CAT scan. These results were not positive (no changes to size). With chemo not working and doctors not giving any hope for remission, Tosha and her family began making her second battle plan for a more natural holistic strategy.

Tosha began the next leg of her journey. She discovered many different types of treatments that have shown to have a positive impact on fighting cancer naturally. (Acupuncture, Vitamin C, Turmeric IV, Hyperbaric and Oxygen treatments to name a few. A good friend introduced her to the Optimum Health Institute.
A 4 week body cleanse was suggested to help rid her body of the chemicals from chemo and help her regain her strength to continue fighting. Her energy level came back almost instantly! NONE OF THIS COVERED BY INSURANCE.

In late August of 2021, a Cat Scan showed the cancer expanded into different areas of her lymph nodes, which caused abdominal pain, bleeding and excruciating lower back pain. She was only given one option, a clinical trial treatment. Although, fearful of the side effects, she moved forward. She wanted to make every attempt to prolong her life. The tumors shrunk after a few treatments, which was very exciting, however currently the treatment is keeping the tumors at bay for now. It's obvious, at this point that a combination of Eastern and Western medicine is necessary.

Tosha is NOT letting Cancer win. She has radically changed her life, diet and mindset and is continually working on getting spiritually centered. Her ability to remain positive is lesson for all of us honestly.

After extensive research, many discussions about college funds, savings and life in general, Tosha and her family made the decision for her to begin treatment at an integrated medical center in Florida (Life Works Wellness Center). It is a 10 week program with a cost of $60,000. (NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE) These treatments have shown not only help fight the cancer naturally, but helps the body restore its immune system to a more healthy state.

The start of the new year has brought the Zabka family many challenges, mentally, financially and soulfully. Everyone knows someone who has fought cancer, it can be incredibly overwhelming in every area. Facing new insurance, new deductibles, new doctors, and the expense of relocating Tosha to Florida. Then adding in the challenge of finding housing, the effort to cover treatment costs not covered by insurance, and more importantly doing all of this without family being near. With Tosha unable to work, Curt continues to keep his business going in Colorado, with occasional trips to Florida and daughters Cameron (20 in college) and Faith (17 a Senior in HS) are continuing to stay in school to keep a level of normalcy, and Curt resides in Colorado for obvious reasons. As I write this, and as you read this, I am sure collectively we cannot imagine how difficult this must be.

Knowing this is a long fight, but one that will be won with help of those who feel compelled to contribute to this fundraiser. She and her family are ALL IN. The Zabka Family thanks you for your unending support and prayers and cannot wait to share the amazing news of Tosha's VICTORY!

From all of us who love and care for this family, Thank You.
