Hi everyone, I’d like to introduce you to Tortilla, a sweet bearded dragon who has found his way into my care. I originally began caring for him for a friend who, unfortunately, no longer has the time to provide the care he needs and is looking to rehome him. I have completely fallen in love with Tortilla and would love to give him a permanent home. However, his current enclosure is much too small for an adult bearded dragon. He is currently living in a 40-gallon tank, while adult bearded dragons require a minimum 4x2x2-foot enclosure (120 gallons) to live comfortably and thrive. His current enclosure also has magnetic doors that don’t always stay securely closed. One day, I accidentally didn’t latch the door properly, and Tortilla got out of his enclosure and my dog almost got to him before I did. Thankfully, Tortilla was not injured, but it was a terrifying experience that could have ended very differently. Since then, I’ve realized how important it is to provide him with a larger, safer, and more secure habitat.


My goal is to purchase a proper 120-gallon enclosure and the necessary supplies to ensure Tortilla has a safe, enriching environment where he can live a happy and healthy life. As much as I want to do this on my own, I simply don’t have the financial means to make this purchase right now while balancing my other responsibilities.
