Help Torres family stay in their home

Hello, my name is Bianca Torres & I am creating a fundraiser on behalf of my cousin, Sandra & my uncle, Cristino who live in Puerto Rico. My family is at risk of losing their home that they have owned for 60 years. Due to unexpected medical expenses for multiple family members in years past, they have needed to take out multiple mortgages on their home. Apart from this, in the last 5 years, they have experienced additional hardships, expenses & loss of income related to multiple hurricanes, the pandemic, weekly power outages due to a fragile power grid, additional medical bills, the death of my aunt, unjust utility bill increases that do not correlate with their level of consumption and my cousin needing to stay home full-time to care for my uncle. My family has used up all of their savings & is currently surviving on my uncle's social security check, but they are no longer able to afford the current mortgage payment. Before my cousin asked me for help, she had already looked into & asked for assistance through various government programs & in some cases due to poor functioning governmental infrastructure & staffing budget cuts, she has been waiting a long time to hear back on whether she can get the support she is asking for. My uncle is 83 years old & his health is deteriorating fast. He communicated to my cousin that his final wish is to live out the rest of his days in his home. My cousin has already begun the loss mitigation process to avoid foreclosure & to reduce the monthly mortgage payments so they can stay in their home, but they are charging her $850 to complete this process & she does not have that amount of money in the timeframe that they are requesting it. Apart from this, my family urgently needs an at-home caregiver to support my cousin in caring for my uncle. My uncle requires around the clock care & my cousin is unable to do basic, essential tasks because she must remain at his side at all times. The amount that I have come up with for this fundraiser is enough to help her pay for the loss mitigation process & to help her hire an at home caregiver that can be with him throughout the week so that she can take care of other essential necessities for the home as well as have time to be able to find work once again to bring in the additional income that they so desperately need. If we raise more money than the initial fundraising amount, it will continue to go towards the expenses related to helping them stay in their home & caring for my uncle. Anything you can give, will be deeply appreciated.
