Help Torque get a new leg.

Donation protected
About a month ago I adopted Torque from the animal shelter, he had been there for one year to the day. He was at risk for euthanasia and I found him on "Death Row Dogs of Indianapolis". I had no plans of getting another dog after losing Obi in May of 2023 to a brain tumor. But when I saw him and heard his story I had to meet him. The post said that he had a bad back leg, but when I got there to meet him we learned that he had 2 bad back legs. The shelter had finally been able to get them x-rayed due to a generous donation. They explained to me that the X-rays done at Hillview showed that he had had something called a Femoral Head Ostectomy in his short life before the shelter. And the vet had expressed that he was not a good candidate for secondary surgery and that he may have a short life span due to his leg degeneration. I didn't want him to be put to sleep due to not being able to find an adopter for over a year so I adopted him and we have been getting second and third and fourth opinions on his hips. Eventually we were recommended to MedVet Indy where they have an Ortho team and a Physical therapy team and they reviewed his x-rays and say that physical therapy would not be worth the time or money without surgery. They recommend that he has his entire left hip replaced with a prosthetic. If he had one good leg he could compensate for the other and live a very long healthy life. Unfortunately MedVet Indy does not have a staff surgeon who does hip prostetics so they referred me to MedVet in Ohio. I contacted them and received a quote of 9,800 dollars for just the left side. After calling a few other places the lowest quote I have found is to take him to Perdue Small Animal Hospital in Lafayette. This is where Obi was seen for his brain tumor so I am comfortable knowing he will be treated well here and it will be done correctly. Still, the estimate is around 7 thousand dollars. I am able to come up with some of the money on my own, but I may have bit off more than I can chew, with me only working part time as a full-time student and the fact that we have another baby on the way. I know people have more important things to raise money for on gofund me and I do not want to take away from these people at all. But if we could even just raise a little bit of money, it would help tremendously. I also will be purging the house and listing things for sale on Facebook in the coming days, to raise most the money and if you can't donate or buy anything I appreciate shares just as much! Anything I can't raise by selling or saving will be put on a credit card, he is my responsibility and he will be getting a new leg either way. This is just an attempt to offset some of the cost. Thanks for reading and please share this and my posts selling things if you can. Thanks in advance everyone.
