Help Tori Rebuild After Devastating Fire

Tori, our department's administrative assistant lost everything yesterday to a devastating fire that gutted the apartment where she and her mother lived. They are both physically fine and have relocated temporarily with relatives. The fire destroyed their building but thankfully there were no injuries. [NBC 5 News coverage]
I am starting this fundraising effort to help Tori and her mother rebuild their household, as they begin to recover from this traumatic, life-altering event. My name is Leo Irakliotis and I work with Tori at Loyola University Chicago, Computer Science department.
Your generosity and kindness will make a difference. Funds collected here will help Tori deal with urgent expenses, find new housing, and begin furnishing it. I hope we'll be able to provide support as follows:
- $3,750 for temporary and urgent expenses while looking for new housing, including clothing;
- $3,750 for security deposit and initial rent for new place;
- $7,500 for provisioning the new place with basic necessities such as bedroom furniture (for two individuals), dinning table and chairs, living room furniture, utensils, kitchenware, linens, clothes, etc.
