Tori has also been admitted to a local hospital to stabilize her before she can be admitted to any treatment facility. 
Next Step, Out of Pocket Maximum needs to be met before all medical bills are covered by her insurance at 100%
Also, keep in mind Tori will need transportation funds as well. I've set the goal to cover her Out of Pocket Maximum. If we can even get above that, her transportation could possibly be covered!

I've met many individuals over the years who are in the throes of trying to treat their eating disorder. They want to live. They come to treatment to figure out this ghastly mental, behavioral and physiological disorder. They didn't wake up one day (with no precursor) and decide they want to slowly and miserably kill themselves. Trauma precedes any "decision" to stop taking care of yourself.

I've talked to Tori. She wants to live.  She's had so many losses in her life that have led her to a place now where she cannot get back up unless she has immediate medical treatment. She is stuck right now, unable to reach her deductible to get proper help. She is not currently in the hands of any treatment facility due to lack of money to get proper medical testing. Her family loves her but is unable to currently help out. She does not have the energy/mental capacity to apply herself for a scholarship through NEDA nor any other means of obtaining donations. I heard about her status this week and am now aware of her critical state. I've see her at a medically stable weight. She's intelligent, witty, an amazing pastry chef (impressive resume), caring and the list goes on... She is a woman who deserves to share who she is with the world but is overtaken with a disorder that makes it seem like IT'S ALL HER FAULT she is in this condition. Please don't give in to that ignorant voice saying: "She just needs to eat", "She's doing this for attention", "She did this to herself". We all know ignorance is bliss. But you can save a life if you choose to keep reading and act. 

Her best friend has detailed  her story below to give more insight into why funds are needed for Tori's current medical state. 

"Due to no fault of her own, my best friends life was put on the line with her Anorexia when she was spontaneously discharged from treatment way before time for her to leave. She was only there for one month & during this month suffered further medical complications & her body still wasn’t holding any weight, instead it was dropping- regardless of the tube feed. Now her tube feedings are no longer an option for her. With her severe gastroparesis, the tube happened to move into the wrong place and potentially injured her further. Her body is beginning to systematically shut down. Her outpatient team is looking for the proper treatment ASAP, due to all of her labs/electrolytes being low & her body weight being the lowest it’s ever been. She was completely weight restored in March of 2020, but was in a very abusive relationship that led to a complete blind relapse. She is in need of an URGENT colonoscopy and endoscopy & URGENT CT scan with contrast because they believe an artery in her stomach is damaged. She has already gone into cardiac arrest, and she is having bad heart palpitations now. Which due to being released from treatment early, she has not met her deductible & would have to pay over $1,800 up front just for these procedures to be done. Not to mention medications that are very costly, & the appointments she’s having to see weekly with her Primary Care Physician, Therapist & Dietician. All of which cost out of pocket. Her team is working VERY hard to find the right inpatient treatment and fight the center that discharged her too soon. She is living off of Long Term Disability being paid once a month & is currently in FL due to not being able to fly because of physical conditions. She’s going through spouts where she can no longer pee for more than a few days, her body is holding no food/fluids, she has developed auto immune disease called Mast Cell Activation Syndrome due to Anorexia.

I’m continuing to watch her deteriorate and I have no control or way to help her. She needs Uber rides to and from the doctor. I’m worried for her safety, as she is not clinically/medically well but regular hospitals do not handle eating disorders properly and won’t admit her, but instead tell her to follow up with her Primary Care. While her team is working hard to find her help immediately, she still needs to be able to find a safe place to stay, buy her medications, buy whatever food/meal supplements she can, and pay for these very important procedures to be done ASAP.
