Tori made it to the Mayo Clinic with her dad in September and, after seeing her doctor, had many referrals to different departments. Thank you so much for the support that made this happen! She is scheduled to return to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN in December and likely in January as well.

There is some great news, though. Although Tori does not have a job or income yet, she secured a student loan to assist with living expenses through the rest of this semester. The loan amount does not account for medical expenses or travel to and from the Mayo Clinic. The great news is that this campaign does not need to fund immediate living expenses like rent and bills!

The goal is now to raise enough money in roughly five weeks to fund the next trip to the Mayo Clinic in December. This will be a shorter trip than the first one. Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed to and/or shared this campaign! If the goal of $4,000 is reached in five weeks, that amount raised will cover much of the expenses for this trip.

In addition to having to return in December, Tori has received a bill of over $15,000 from the Mayo Clinic. There are steps she can take to take to lower that bill and apply for financial assistance before fundraising to help with the costs.

Tori is a college undergrad who recently became unemployed due to undiagnosed health issues. She is scheduled to go to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for evaluation at the end of September. Since January 2024, Tori has had some disruptive health issues that have been difficult to diagnose by local providers. She stopped working at her full-time job later that year and has worked intermittently since.

These health issues have made it difficult to keep up with work, and recently, she had to stop working full-time again after a bad flare up. The hope is that the Mayo Clinic in Rochester will be able to help her get to the bottom of these health concerns and get back to a normal life.

Tori thought she had her travel costs covered, but things have changed very quickly. The amount she is fundraising will cover travel costs, some living expenses for this month, and any medical costs that come up in September. If this campaign exceeds its goal, Tori will use that money to make payments toward her medical debts. Her medical debts have reached over $7,000 since January 2024.

This experience over the past two years has inspired Tori to switch careers from marketing to go back to school and become a biomedical researcher and public health professional. She hopes to use the lessons from her experiences to help other patients who have difficult diagnoses get the care they need more quickly.
