Help Toodle Lou Fight for His Life

UPDATE 9/01: After surgery last night Toodle Lou was doing better; however, this morning began rapidly declining due to complications. His lungs started to fill with fluid, and his tongue became incredibly swollen and infected. He entered heart failure, and the vet said he was going to pass on his own without intervention. I drove over immediately. I held him, pet him, and showed him love before he was peacefully put to sleep. It was quick and painless. I am sorry I could not do more for him. Things were looking up for Toodles, before things turned for the worse. I did the best that I could and find solace that he passed knowing love and affection. I loved him and really tried my best to make sure he got through this. Thank you everyone for your support throughout this period. Toodle Lou was a special cat and had a team of supporters around him. As he crossed the rainbow bridge today, he knew only love.

Hi everyone! My name is Sydney and this is Toodle Lou. I pulled Toodle Lou from the euthanasia list at ACCT yesterday morning before his timestamp at 10am. Toodle Lou is a four-year-old male cat, and he was surrendered due to his owner’s health. I am his foster mom through ACCT and the co-founder of Hope Wins, a foster-based animal rescue. Toodle Lou was originally diagnosed with a URI, but he has something much worse. Toodle Lou was healthy and bright before he entered the shelter. After 18 days in the shelter, he is close to death.

After providing him with IV fluids and supportive care for 24 hours, I made the decision to bring Toodle Lou to a veterinary hospital. Toodle Lou has ulcers covering his mouth, nose, and tongue. He has yellow mucus and blood leaking out of his eyes, nose, and mouth. Due to these symptoms, Toodle Lou is unable to eat or drink and is having a feeding tube inserted surgically. Despite this, Toodle Lou has fight in his eyes and still leans in for pets. He is such a good boy, and I will do my best to get him through. I have attached the vet care costs below.
