Hello everyone. I just wanted to give everyone a little backstory of everything that’s been going on. Back in November 2020 my momma, Tonya, reached out to Dr. Rodriguez cause she had been feeling really bad and having a lot of pain in her hip and tailbone area. On November 23rd they told us her cancer that she had back in 2015 was back only now it was worse. She had a tumor that was in the pelvic area behind the hip which also was pressing against her ureter making it impossible or urine to flow from the kidney to the bladder causing hydronephrosis. They also told us there was a very large mass in her liver and a spot on her lung. From there she was in 3 different hospitals with multiple problems on November 6th she was admitted to Women’s hospital in Baton Rouge where we had been wanting her to go. They immediately began looking at everything. And called for a family meeting on January 9th. And that’s where they told us that the cancer had attacked so many systems and cause so many problems including her nutrition to decrease. They told us that she wasn’t strong enough to have treatment and he didn’t believe that she would be able to get strong enough at this point. They told us it was too late for treatment that my momma would most likely only be with us for 2 maybe 3 more weeks and the best thing we could do is make her comfortable for the little time we do have left with her. I never imagined having to do anything like this so soon. With her being so young and it being so soon and unexpected we weren’t financially prepared for the burdens to come. After family discussions we decided to start this go fund me to raise money for all the cost that will accumulate along the way. Anything would be greatly appreciated. And if nothing else prayers for momma and the family are even more appreciated. I also have cashapp $saramelton92 and also venmo @saramelton92 that can be donated to since gofundme does take a percentage and some don’t like using it. Thank you all and we love you and appreciate all of you.
