Hi my name is Tonya. I'm born and raised in Peoria and have lived here most of my life. I grew up in the Taft and went to Woodruff. I am a diabetic, have high pressure, COPD, and had a brain aneurism which has left me with occasional seizures but I was able to get by just fine in my own home, until Ameren turned off my power. In order to get my lights back on I had to use the last of my rent money for the year. I am asking for help on my rent to get me through the rest of the year, which is a total of $1,300 dollars.

I spend most of my free helping my community and I participate in all of the rallies for justice that I can, and enjoy cooking meals for our homeless neighbors.

I have lived here in Peoria most of my life and I want to stay in my own home. Please help me hang on to it until I get back on my feet.
