Help Tony Todd fund Little Leaguers' Trip to Cooperstown

My name is Tony Todd, and I’ve proudly called Santa Monica home since day one. This community has always held a special place in my heart; it’s been number one to me my entire life. This is where I fell in love with baseball, playing Little League, learning life lessons from my coaches that I treasure to this day, and making life-long friendships.

As a Little Leaguer, I dreamed of visiting Cooperstown, the home of the Baseball Hall of Fame and countless historic landmarks. But I never had the means to make that trip. That missed opportunity stayed with me, and now, it’s become a personal mission to help give today’s kids the chance I never had.

Because I couldn’t go, I feel it’s both my responsibility and my privilege to help a team of Little Leaguers from my hometown of Santa Monica experience the magic of Cooperstown. That’s why I’ve created this GoFundMe page, to raise money and make their dream a reality.

On July 20th in Santa Monica, I will be hosting a free screening of Little Big League, where I play Mickey Scales, to bring our community together for a fun Summer Movie Night and Fundraiser Event, for all kids from Santa Monica and the surrounding Little Leagues to experience with their friends and families.

I am inviting all my friends, fellow Little League and SAMO High alum, and community members to attend the screening and help donate what they can to help me send these kids to walk the legendary halls of the Baseball Hall of Fame, where they can learn about the greats who built the game, its pioneers, its innovators, and its heroes. Let’s give them a trip they’ll never forget.

ABOUT THE TEAM (Santa Monica Riptide)

This is a team of 12-year-olds comprised completely of Santa Monica Little League players.

In August 2025, the Santa Monica Riptide is traveling to Cooperstown, NY to compete with over 100 different teams from across the country. It is every young baseball player's dream to play ball in Cooperstown — the fabled birthplace of baseball and home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame!

This core group of boys has been working toward this dream for several years, first coming together as a 10-year-old team winning the Little League All-Star District Championship in 2023 for Santa Monica Little League. In 2024, they became the first team in Santa Monica Little League's 75-year history to repeat as District Champions, finishing one game short of advancing to the State tournament. Now as a 12-year-old team, this group has been working since this past Fall to improve with weekly practice and games with hopes of advancing further in the Little League All-Star Tournament, and then culminating their journey by accomplishing their goal of competing and winning the Cooperstown tournament.

To achieve their dream, we are asking for the support of family, friends, the community, and baseball lovers everywhere to help get each kid to Cooperstown!
