On Saturday the 17th at 9:17 pm, my son and I were struck by a drunk driver going over 95 mph. The impact lifted our truck into the air and rolled it three times in the median. We were both knocked unconscious. As I looked for my sons body.. there he laid face down… body locked in fetal position.. shaking.. ….as I rubbed his sternum and screamed out to God. A bystander pulled up beside me as I laid on my back on the road with my son on my chest , finally crying back to life,faintly . She rushed us to the closest hospital. I have a minor concussion, and my son suffered a more severe concussion, whiplash, and bruises and cuts all over his body. We were transferred to Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, where we stayed for three and a half days. My son has a contusion to the left side of his head, and I had glass in my skin, scrapes, and cuts.

Our only vehicle was totaled in the accident, and we provide for four children with high rent and no savings due to a recent move. We have no family to help us.Our jobs can't be put on hold forever and we now face outrageous hospital/Doctor bills and the urgent need to buy a vehicle. We have no way to get to the doctor/hospital for follow-up testing or to get to work. We made an insurance claim, but it won't take effect for another 15 days. We spent every penny we had just to get home from Baton Rouge.

We need help from people who care about our story and know us personally. It hurts our pride to ask for help because my fiancé and I are very independent, but we are left with no options. We could lose our jobs if we don't find transportation soon. We just need a little help.. we totaled everything and the price is anywhere from 900-1,500 just for the rental. To get a rental car now and pay for doctor/hospital trips and visits. . Any support will make a difference for our family as we recover and try to get back on our feet.

Jesus, I come to you to personally bless each and everyone one of these donators. Even the ones that couldnt financially support this problem. The ones that just prayed to your heavens. Lord we thank you endlessly for protecting my son and I as we were ragged dolled in my truck. Could have costed both of our lives. But it didn’t and you are proof of that lord.
