Dear friends,

Several months ago I had an extremely devastating fire that destroyed my Oakland, CA residence and with it, thousands of books, my record / CD collection, my computer, the sound system,  journals, pamphlets, posters, broadsides, documents, DVDs, a Sony camera, photographic negatives, clothes, and other items such as household furniture and appliances.

As can be seen, the damage from the fire - but also from smoke and water - is extensive.

I have been living on Social Security, a small pension, and heretofore, some income from book selling. This disaster has basically destroyed my ability to be self-employed as a bookseller/book trader.  

Therefore I need your support to buy books and other materials to restock and resupply all that has been lost.

I also will be having some relatively high legal costs which must be also factored in. 

Overall, I estimate that at least $10000.00 is needed.

So far I've raised a little over $6000.00 so I'm asking friends to consider making a donation - if possible.

Aside from this request for funds, donations of books and other materials would be extremely welcome.

I would like to begin receiving funds and material donations as soon as possible.
