Support Tony’s Journey to Stabilization and Success: Your Help Matters
A Call for Compassion and Community
Update as of January 22, 2026.
Unfortunately, Tony has had another serious setback. Just after Christmas, in the heavy rainstorm, Tony fell and fractured his pelvis. He had been having issues with stability while recovering from the previously broken right femur from the car accident. We are praying that the Reagan Library will maintain his employment position while he heals and receives necessary recovery therapy. Right now, he is unable to work or walk without crutches. We are trying to find resources available from the State of CA, but have been unsuccessful in obtaining anything at all. He has barely been able to obtain any medical help through Medi-Cal services. We are hoping for an appointment 10 days from today if we can lock it in today. Tony needs help now; he is nearly fully disabled and may have a chance for partial recovery if we can get the basic services from the State of CA. It seems nearly impossible to get any State help at this time. Any help you can provide now will help to get Tony into the necessary medical assistance, buy food, and keep the temporary motel room he is in. Please donate to Tony's recovery. Anything you can do will be used precisely to keep Tony afloat long enough to get back on his feet and back to work.
We are reaching out with deep gratitude to everyone who has supported Tony—both financially and with your care—over the past year. Thanks to your generosity, Tony has begun the long journey toward rebuilding his life, but his path to full recovery is not yet complete, and he needs our help now more than ever.
The good news is that Tony is now employed full-time and working in the kitchen at The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley. He also has temporary housing in a Thousand Oaks Hotel and is now looking for permanent housing in the Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, and Simi Valley area.
As some of you may know, Tony’s world changed dramatically over 14 months ago. In the midst of unemployment and homelessness, he was the victim of a devastating hit-and-run accident. Not only was he left with severe injuries, but as he was rushed to the hospital, his car—his home—and all his belongings were stolen. Tony spent months in the hospital and in physical rehabilitation, facing overwhelming challenges each day. But none as big as trying to get stabilized now.
Tony’s survival and progress have been possible only because of the kindness of friends, teammates, and compassionate individuals like you. Here’s what past support for $11,000 has accomplished:
• Last April, Tony was able to move into a modest motel room, providing the stability he desperately needed. Daily expenses of food, gas, and medical.
• With time and support, Tony earned his security guard credentials and was briefly employed at a UPS facility in downtown Los Angeles. Fortunately, he has moved forward, and as mentioned above, Tony is now working at The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library full-time in the kitchen, where he is at home.
Now, as Tony enters this next stage of recovery, we are seeking to raise $36,000. These funds are critical: they will help Tony transition from temporary shelter to permanent housing, which provides the stability needed to pursue and maintain full-time employment. He is looking for a “room for Rent” in Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, and or Simi Valley now, at a rate of $750-$1200 per month. Your contribution, no matter the amount, will have a direct impact on Tony’s life:
Goals
12-month Goals for Tony - $25,000 to be used for;
Reliable Car $15,000
New Clothes $5,000
Food and Bills $5,000
We are gaining momentum with select donors willing to match the first $10,000 donation with another donation of $10,000.
-$250 donation: Covers food for a partial week as Tony has no fridge or cooking equipment
- $500 donation: Covers one week of expenses of food, gas, phone, car insurance, and medical needs. Since Tony is residing in a hotel, he is unable to store or cook food.
-$750 donation: Covers a ½ month rent now, and we are working now to lower the rent, looking for a “room for rent” in Thousand Oaks, Moorpark and or Simi Valley now, at a rate of $750-$1200 per month.
-$10,000 donation: Makes it possible to secure permanent housing, cover moving and daily living costs, and provide Tony the stability to rebuild for the long term.
- All donations larger than $1,000 will be very impactful and cover a portion of all expenses, including medical expenses, rent, groceries, and long-term needs.
A functioning computer could change his life very quickly. He’s basically starting over after all his possessions were stolen after the car accident.
Every gift brings Tony closer to hope, healing, and independence. If you are unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing Tony’s story with your network—your words and encouragement are just as valuable.
Gift Cards are a great way to offset the cost of food, gas, and expenses as they provide many options and go a long way. Places such as Chevron, Target, Vons, Trader Joe's, Subway, Panera, Jersey Mike's, or Chipotle, among others, would be wonderful.
Even as Tony has grappled with hardship after hardship, the greatest pain has been the separation from his beloved family. Yet every effort, every act of support, fuels his determination to heal and reunite with his daughters, Paige and McKenna. With your help, Tony’s journey becomes not just a story of recovery, but of hope and the love of family. Each day brings him closer to the embrace of those he treasures most.
Thank you for standing with Tony as he fights for a brighter future. With your help, we can ensure that this next chapter is one of dignity, stability, and renewed opportunity.
With heartfelt appreciation,
The Support Team
Chris Fredrick
