Tony Larabee was the man behind the scenes shipping boatbuilding supplies from the Skinboat Store in Anacortes, Washington for 25 years. He's also a deeply humble and kind human being.

4 years ago he was simultaneously hit with 2 types of cancer. Despite 2 surgeries, 3 rounds of radiation, chemo, and an immunotherapy trial (in which he was the only survivor), Tony is doing pretty good, he has a good prognosis but he MUST continue treatment. Last year Tony exhausted his savings and then had to sell his house to pay for treatment, then Corey, the owner of the Skinboat School passed away leaving Tony without a job and too sick to work.

Right now Tonys Chemo treatments cost $1000 PER WEEK, but I'll be damned if I let someone with this good of a shot die just because of our f-ed healthcare system. Tony in his own words:

"I have Non hodgekins lymphoma, I've had chemotherapy, 3 times radiation, high dose methotrexate, immunotherapy at Fred hutch in Seattle, at the moment the pain and neuropathy in my legs and feet dictate my day someday I can't walk very good, my immune system is compromised, but I just keep going and I'm glad to be here. So many didn't make it while I was at university of Washington hospital, I am lucky to get to come home. When I was in treatment Cory would pick me up and I'd do what I could shipping supplies, it gave me something to look forward to when I could. I've worked off and on for Corey for over 20 yrs. We did a lot of boating together, and would help with teaching in Seattle and in Anacortes, life is sure not the same now that he is gone."
