Help Tony in His Fight Against Stage 4 Cancer
Donation protected
On September 19th, 2022, Tony went to Urgent Care for lumps in his neck and mouth along with difficulty breathing. A CT scan showed some concerning tumors in the throat/neck area that were suspicious for cancer.
On September 28th, he had a PET scan of the entire body which showed that the cancer has metastasized (spread) to the liver and lungs, consistent with stage 4 cancer. Today, he is recovering in the ICU as he just had a tracheostomy tube placed (this is where a tube is placed into the windpipe through the neck to help with breathing). We are waiting to hear from his oncologist regarding the next steps.
With this sudden and unexpected news, Tony will not be able to work and his daughter, Shelby, will be relocating 3 hours away (from Bend to Milwaukie Oregon) in order to be closer to Tony, leaving her job as a CNA at the hospital.
We are starting a donation fund to help alleviate financial stressors for Tony and Shelby so that neither of them have to worry about basic necessities such as food, mortgage payments, and utility bills during this time. Shelby has spent the entirety of the COVID-19 pandemic caring for other people’s loved ones as a nursing assistant in the ICU and our hope is that she will now be able to fully focus on caring for and being present with her own dad.
Thank you so much for any/all thoughts, prayers, donations, and shares. It is so appreciated. ♥️
