It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Virginia Tressler Hankins, who exuded true strength and unwavering courage through a fearless spirit loved by all. Wife to Tony Hankins, mother to Mikayla Wilt, step-mother to Shelby and Anthony Hankins, sister to Bill Crowe, Connie Warnick, Jake Tressler, Shirley Owens, Carol Hutzel, the late Conrad Tressler, and sister in-law to CJ Bernard and Bari Lyn Baran. Virginia touched the lives of so many with her unending kindness, selflessness, and compassion, and we will forever cherish the wonderful memories we all shared.

As her family prepares to say their final goodbyes, we are reaching out to our community for support and assistance with covering Virginia’s funeral expenses. The emotional and financial burden caused by the struggle of navigating the healthcare system to ensure she received the best care possible, traveling to and from hospitals in Baltimore, Frederick, and Bethesda; often requiring time away from home for extended periods to make sure that someone was by Virginia’s side these last few months has been felt by the entire family. The added burden of funeral expenses should be the last thing on anyone’s mind right now, which is why we are asking for help. Any contribution, no matter the size will help us alleviate that burden, honor Virgina’s memory, and provide her with a dignified sendoff.
