On behalf of my dad Tony DeMarzo, who was recently hit by a car on his motorcycle, we are reaching out for your support.
Tony's Story
On the evening of July 28th 2024 while doing one of the things he loves most, riding his motorcycle, he was the victim of a hit and run. He was riding at Nellis and Lake Mead when a driver going over 70MPH hit him, throwing him from his bike. The driver then sped away as my dad was left laying in the street with extensive injuries. The driver still has not been found. This accident has left him with severe road rash, a broken tibia, deep painful bruising all over his body and worst of all the complete detachment of his skin from his left leg leaving nearly a foot of exposed muscle and tissue from his calf to his hamstring that has/will require multiple surgeries.
Road to Recovery
Tony has already undergone 3 surgeries to address his injuries and will most likely have to endure more. Currently surgeons are still figuring out how to properly treat his leg which has left him in a prolonged stay at the hospital. The doctors have said this will be a "long road to recovery". Already the medical expenses are multiplying and the injuries have left Tony in a position where his full time job needs to be rest and healing. As he works hard to recover this is where we hope family and friends can be of vital importance.
How we can support him
Due to not being able to work in his current condition Tony has been left financially vulnerable. We all know how hard of a worker he is and how independent he has been his whole life. He is usually the first person stepping up to help friends and family in their times of need no matter how big or small the situation, but now things are the other way around. We are hoping that those who know and love him in any capacity can help us to get him back on his feet, figuratively and literally! He has a fighting spirit and we want to see that big smile and boisterous fun loving attitude return despite this trauma that he has endured. Any amount will help and is immensely appreciated.
