Hi, most people know me. But if you don’t, my name is Mary Jerels Curtis. I am doing a GoFundMe page for my youngest son, Tony Curtis. He was born on April 5, 1988. Tony lived in Ohio, where he went on his mission to Arizona. He enjoyed that so much and grew so much in faith. He got sick while there and he’s been struggling with this disease for 16 years. It’s called Wegener's Granulomatosis. It’s an autoimmune disease that affects his kidneys and lungs. He’s been going through all kinds of medicines and having infusions every 6 months. But the medicine doesn’t seem to be working as well because he only has 19 percent of his kidneys working. So we need a new kidney. I’m trying to raise as much as I can. Tony does not have insurance, and this is something that he needs to pay for. He’s getting on Medicaid, which will cover meds and tests, and if we don’t get a kidney soon, they will pay for his dialysis until one is found. Tony has type O blood, and none of us have that type, so we aren’t a match. Anything, any amount you can do will be so appreciated. I’m also trying to get other things started to also raise money: silent auction, maybe doing a taco benefit. I’m up for any help or suggestions.
