Help Tony "CJ" Cimino-Johnson Hold LCPS Accountable

Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters of Public Education,

We’re calling on you to stand with Tony "CJ" Cimino-Johnson—a nationally recognized, award-winning theater educator who has dedicated over a decade of service to Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS). Tony has transformed the lives of hundreds of students, built nationally celebrated arts programs, and created inclusive spaces for all students—especially those who too often go unheard.

But now, Tony is fighting for his career, his reputation, and his rights. After years of unwavering service, Tony has become the target of escalating retaliation from LCPS—retaliation that began after he reported internal misconduct, requested ADA accommodations for diagnosed PTSD and Adult Autism, and bravely spoke up about the toxic and discriminatory conditions impacting students and staff alike.

While his union is providing limited support in the ongoing termination process, this is not enough. We are raising funds to take independent legal action—not just against LCPS, but against individual employees and administrators who may be personally liable for civil rights violations, ADA noncompliance, and the long-lasting harm caused by their actions.

This isn’t just about one teacher. It’s about protecting all educators who face retaliation for speaking truth to power. It’s about demanding real accountability—from both institutions and the individuals within them.

Your contributions will help cover:

Independent legal representation beyond union-provided defense
Filing fees and litigation costs for ADA, civil rights, and whistleblower complaints
Expert witness testimony and document analysis
Federal appeals and any future legal action
Lost income due to administrative leave and delays in due process
Out-of-pocket reimbursements for therapy, accommodations, and related professional costs
Paid advertising to reach wider audiences and mobilize support via social media
Printing, travel, advocacy materials, and communications tools to build public pressure and keep the community informed
We are not just defending Tony—we are building a case for justice.

Tony stood up when others stayed silent. He chose students over silence. And now, it’s our turn to stand up for him.

If Tony ever inspired your child, made a difference in your life, or stood for what was right even when it was hard—please donate and share. Every dollar matters. Every voice counts.

With gratitude and resolve,
Todd
