Hello everyone,
My name is Josh Boccardi. My family and I are fundraising for my brother, Tony Boccardi. Recently, we discovered that he has been unfortunately diagnosed with a glioma tumor on the frontal lobe of his brain. The funds gathered will be used to prolong Tony's life with surgical treatment and care not covered by insurance. The overall goal is to increase his prognosis and quality of life.
After suffering weeks of severe and intensifying headaches, frequent periods of forgetfulness, and memory lapses, Tony went to a walk-in clinic where a CT scan was performed. At the age of 38, he was given the diagnosis of a 6.1 cm brain tumor. The tumor is unfortunately wrapping around his brain and the faster we act, the better. He had one diagnosis of a brain tumor, and after a recent trip to Houston, his symptoms intensified. This led to him going to M.D. Anderson, where he was seen and admitted for swelling of the brain. Tony was discharged with meds to decrease swelling. With this second opinion, he was diagnosed with a glioma tumor. His follow-up protocols were to see three consults, including a neurosurgeon, pulmonologist, and a radiologist. Tony has a long road ahead of him filled with treatments and recovery.
Our family is, of course, devastated by this news, but we are remaining positive and hopeful. This fundraiser will help with surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy. This fundraiser is about giving Tony a fighting chance and getting his health back to normal. Tony is not just my brother. He is an amazing uncle, son, partner, and friend to many. A kind-hearted person like Tony deserves this chance. Please consider donating and/or sharing with others so we can get him the help he needs.
Thank you,
Josh and the Boccardi Family
