On June, 2019 my brother Tony checked into the hospital complaining of abdominal pain. Two days later he was informed that there was a mass on his pancreas that looked concerning to the doctors. They sprung into action to remove the mass from his body. The biopsy confirmed he has stage 3 pancreatic cancer. Hearing the doctor's report was difficult for us to hear, because our mother also had this same form of cancer 9 years ago.
Since the surgery we have received every indication that all of the visible cancer has been removed. Tony is now gearing up for chemotherapy treatments that will continue between now and the end of the year. We are asking ya'll to jump in the fight with him!
Many of you who know Tony are aware of his life and contributions to the music industry-- particularly to the music scenes in Miami, Atlanta, and places around the globe. Like most artists and creatives his financial situation often fluctuated between feast and famine. This will be a heavy financial lift for us, as it would be for any family who has to deal with a health issue as serious as this. As we now contend with the expense of the medical bills, we also anticipate that his ability to generate income for his basic needs will also be limited.
We are reaching out to Tony's deep network of friends, hometown play cousins, the University of Miami family (aka The U!), and his music industry colleagues to assist in the effort to reach the goal of $50,000 to help Tony pay for upcoming medical bills and to meet his basic needs while he fights and overcomes cancer.
