My name is Hannah and I have gotten to know Toni, Renee, Kayla, and Zeuss through my work as a barista.

Toni has finished her chemo and radiation to fight Stage 2 (almost 3) breast cancer. The he side effects have taken her sight, hair (which is slowly growing back), and some of her teeth. But that's not the only loss: she lost her job and her HOME. They have been homeless since November 29th and are the 18th family on a waitlist at the shelter. She is working with her social worker for assistance and is in the process of filing for disability. She is doing everything right and the best that she can in a very slow and confusing system.

Kayla has a part-time job, Renee is only 17, and I'm hopeful she can finish high school this next year. Sometimes they are able to scrape together enough money for a hotel, but most nights they have been sleeping on the streets. They are kind, have a positive attitude, and are trying to hold on to humor and to each other through their situation. One of our regular customers purchased Zeus the tags to be an emotional support dog so they can bring him inside with them.

WHY $4,000???? I'd like this GoFundMe page to be able to help them with a temporary apartment instead of staying on the street or in a hotel. When I asked them what they needed, they didn't ask for much: just some soap, deodorant, a comb, shampoo, and some dog food. I'm hopeful that we can come together and help them get on their feet and overcome this situation. I feel personally driven to help them: they are the opposite side of the coin of my family. My mom has been battling her own breast cancer. My family could have been just like this. Please help me help this wonderful family.
