Needing more prayers

UPDATE: Tony’s pneumonia has come back and Brooke and Tony need your prayers now more than ever. All of you have amazed then with your loving support. I will continue to update as more becomes available.

It's time for our community to take the time to help those who need it most. Back on September 9, Tony was diagnosed with stage 3A lung cancer. By the time they found it, the tumor was already too big to operate on to remove the left lung that had collapsed. They have gone through chemotherapy, with the disappointing news that the tumor doubled in size, and an operation was now out of the question.

Tony then started radiation about a month ago, as he had a massive seizure and was intubated and transported by air transportation to Orlando. Unfortunately, they discovered the cancer had metastasized to his brain, withstanding more than 22 lesions and three larger tumors. The only option at this point in the journey was to attempt whole brain radiation.

Sadly, the seizures continued, and the whole brain radiation was just too hard on him. They came to the undeniable truth that he was terminal, so he decided to stop treatment.

On April 3, he was back in the ER with seizures, yet again. This visit was even more excruciatingly painful, as they found more lesions and fluid on his brain.

Our sweet Brooke took it upon herself to call Vista Healthcare, a.k.a. Hospice, and it was the best thing she ever could have ever done. Hospice has been wonderful to Tony and Brooke and their families. They even planned a wedding for them in 48 hours, so they are now husband and wife, which was one of the most amazing ceremonies I have ever attended. Also, Tony visited his favorite place for three days—the beach.

This journey has led us here today. Tony has been unable to work since last September, and Brooke has had to take an unpaid leave of absence from her job to be his full-time caregiver. The bills are piling up, and Tony does not want to leave this earth having Brooke and their daughter, Charlotte, fighting to survive with medical bills. Tony and Brooke have four girls between the two of them, ages 19, 15, 11, and 3. Tony is only 47. The heartbreaking life of this family has been devastating. If you can find it in your heart to help this family in any way, they would be eternally grateful. Every single penny helps Tony rest easy knowing his family will not be held to the fire to pay his ongoing medical bills that have accumulated.
