Help Tonk the Rescue Kitten Heal
Donation protected
Tonk, a 5-6 week old rescue kitten, came into our lives in a truly unexpected way. My husband and I found her hanging from a small tree near the old warehouse we plan to turn into a shop. She was in obvious distress, and when we brought her to the vet, we learned that her back paw was either bitten off by an animal or caught in a trap. Despite her rough start, Tonk has shown incredible resilience and a strong will to survive.
Tonk is very small for her age, weighing under 1 pound, which means she will require special anesthesia and pain medication for her surgery. In the two days since we found her, she has already gained 5 ounces, showing just how determined she is to get better. We are caring for Tonk in our home alongside our five other rescue cats and our 10-year-old labrador. The vet has started her on antibiotics and a dewormer, but she needs urgent surgery to amputate her injured left back leg at the hip. After her surgery, Tonk will require pain medication, more antibiotics, and careful wound care. When she is old enough, she will also need to be spayed. The costs for her surgery and ongoing care are significant, and we want to give her the best chance at a happy, healthy life.
We are asking for help to cover the expenses of Tonk’s amputation, her medications, and her future spay surgery. Any contributions left over after Tonk’s care will be paid forward to help other animals in need. Every contribution will go directly to her medical care and recovery. Thank you for supporting Tonk and giving her a second chance.
