My sister—Burn Surgery&Bill Fund

Donation protected
On November 10, my baby sister was burned on her ankle when a hot coal went down her boot, which caught her shoe on fire before she could get it off. (SEE Pictures by swiping left on her picture). She immediately went to the hospital ER in Statesboro, Ga, where she lives and attends college at Georgia Southern University. The hospital did not even clean her Burn, left the melted panty hose on the ankle, told her to go home and clean it with dish soap. They gave her some cream and antibiotics and said “follow up with your primary care doctor in 2 weeks”. The hospital told her to leave it open to “air out”, so she continued working at Zaxbys, actually 96 hours that two weeks. Fast forward, 3 weeks coming home from our mothers from Thanksgiving, we stopped at a store and walking in she hit the area with her other shoe, ripping off the scab. She fell to the floor in the store in pain. Cheyenne has a strong will, so the entire 3 weeks she dealt with the pain, worked and didn’t say anything. We immediately took her to Doctors Hospital ER and Burn Center doctor said she should have been transferred to the Burn Center from Statesboro that night of 11/10. The burn was a “Full Flesh Cut Through”, which means it burned all layers leaving the muscle exposed. So many things that should have happened, never did, and things that should not have been done, were done at Statesboro hospital, thus allowing 3 weeks of suffering because she was following their discharge papers. The doctor in Augusta scheduled her for surgery the following morning at 8 am (day after Thanksgiving), where she received a Cadaver Donor skin graft. Checked in the following Friday, and they scheduled her for a second Skin Graft this past Thursday, 11/7/2017. This procedure was more intense as they did a deep split skin graft (YouTube that and you’ll understand how bad it actually is), taking skin from her hip and grafting it to her ankle. We go back this upcoming Thursday to see if the graft takes. Then in another week we find out if and how many more grafts she will need. She is staying with me in Augusta so she is close to Burn Center, but I am asking for anyone who can, please donate to help with medical expenses, paying her billls, and other items for wound care (Wound wraps, Gauze, Medicines etc.) not covered by insurance. At the moment, she is technically incapacitated as she cannot walk, I bathe her, and she has to remain lying down with ankle elevated to promote healing and make sure the graft doesn’t shift. Even more so, she is unable to work, so I have been paying her rent, car payment, insurances, etc, which is getting harder and harder as more bills are coming in. On top of this, she has classes that start in January, so her school books need to be purchased, and she’s a Triple Major (Political Science, International Affairs and Asian Studies), because her dream is to become an Ambassador. She has given to so many people in the past, through Charity Work, Volunteering, friendships, and stepping up when called upon. Now she is down physically, concerned that she’s letting her job down, and that she is a burden on me. Not sure how she thinks that because I will always take care of those I love. So, if you have it in your heart to help, no matter how small of amount, please do. There is no telling what the medical bills will end up being, even after insurance pays, that she will have to pay, plus making sure her apartment, car, and bills are paid so she will not get evicted or lose her car. Thank you all who have known about this and sent your blessings and prayers for her through each surgery. It’s hard to watch your loved ones suffer in pain and there’s nothing you can do to make it stop. Her pain is physical and emotional, as this has and will permanently scar and disfigure her body. Thank you in advance for your help and generosity.
